Safeway Money Orders Guide

For international transfers, it’s not just a matter of finding a secure and trustworthy company. It’s finding a company that will give you a reliable money transfer service at the best price. Given that Safeway is one of the best companies around, it is essential to have a clear idea about the Safeway money orders guide.

Safeway money orders are among the most secure and recommended forms of payment overseas. They go through a US Postal Service-certified cashier. This is the safest form of transfer possible and will never be considered a "wire transfer" by the banks.

We will provide you with all the information you need to know about Safeway money orders so that you don’t make any mistakes when purchasing one. You can use this Safeway money order guide effectively to transfer money overseas.

Can You Purchase Money Orders In Safeway?

A money order can be purchased at the Safeway store by visiting the Customer Service desk. After you visit the desk, an associate will walk you through the steps. You must provide them with particular information. These include the money order amount, your full name and address, and the payee's full name and address.

When you supply them with the following information, they will process your money order request and notify you of the total amount you must pay. This total includes the money order amount as well as the processing fee.

Although most Safeway stores provide Western Union service at their customer service desk, a few have discontinued it. If you wish to utilize this service at a Safeway, be sure the location accepts money orders.

Where To Purchase A Money Order At Safeway?

Money orders are an essential, time-saving instrument for people who lack access to a bank account or don't want to use their credit cards. Money orders can be used in place of checks. The amount you need to purchase one is often less than what you would spend on a personal check.

However, many people do not know that purchases have increased significantly at Safeway stores. So it's only natural that we're receiving a lot of inquiries about whether Safeway sells money orders. Customers often ask where you can purchase a money order at Safeway.

The answer is: in the store. Money orders are for use at their register. You can purchase one with cash, a credit card, or a check. There may be no specific location in your neighborhood for the purchase of a money order.

But there may be a nearby store that does have one available and sells them daily. And it may be in a different location, or accessible through an aisle. For the closest money order store to your location, search Safeway locations online and see if one is listed near you.

Then check the hours that they sell them. Some stores may purchase and sell money orders at night and/or on weekends, so be sure to check the hours listed on Safeway's website or social media channels.

Money Order Process With A Safeway Debit Card

Getting a money order with a debit card at Safeway is easy! It's the same principle as with a prepaid debit card. But there's no activation fee involved when using a debit card. They'll ask you how much you want the money to order. Then they will print one off in just a few minutes.

If you're using Mobile Pay or Apple Pay, they can request your PIN on their device. Simply present your Money Order, along with your Club Card and ID to the cashier. And make sure to select "I want to pay with my Debit Card" at checkout!

If you don't have a Safeway Club Card and ID, you can still take your debit card to the store to get a money order. Just make sure you write down their order number for future reference!

How Much Does It Cost?

Safeway charges customers for money orders. They charge a flat rate of $5 per money order. The cost varies based on the amount of cash required for the money order and transaction type.

For example, Safeway will charge a flat fee of $5 on all one-dollar bills when the recipient is another Safeway retailer. But they only charge $2 when the recipient is any other entity.

In addition to charging a fixed fee, Safeway also charges a percentage of each transaction in relation to its total value. For example, if you are using a money order at Safeway to buy $100 worth of merchandise, the transaction would be charged 32.70% of the total value.

There are four transaction types and each has its own fee: (1) money-order payable to another retailer; (2) money order payable to an individual; (3) cash card/cheque payment; and (4) cashless debit card payment.

Money Order Payable To Another Retailer

This is when you use the money order to purchase goods or services from another retail entity. For example, you have bought a $100 gift card at Safeway using a money order to pay for the purchase. You'll have overpaid by $5 for the value of that gift card. It will cost $105 (the fee will be deducted from your money order).

Money Order Payable To An Individual

This is when you use the money order to pay an individual via a mail-in payment. For example, you want to mail in a $1,000 payment to your landlord using a money order. It will cost you $16.50 (the fee will also be deducted from your money order).

Cash Card/Cheque Payment

This is when you pay for purchases or services by taking a cash card or cheque from the store and paying for them at another retailer. For example, you want to take out a cash card that has a balance of $200. If you want to pay for your purchases at Safeway using it, you'll have overpaid by $5.

Cashless Debit Card Payment

This is when you pay for your purchases by using your debit card at a merchant location that is linked to your Safeway account. The debit card is then charged with a percentage of each transaction in relation to the total value of the transaction.

For example, you want to buy $100 worth of merchandise and have a credit balance of $10. Safeway will charge 5% on both items with a minimum fee of $0.05.

Mode Of Payment Required For Money Order

While shopping at Safeway, you'll need to know that they don't accept personal checks as a form of payment at their store. This means you'll likely have to pay by cash, debit card, or credit card.

They do not accept the payment methods of prepaid cards or cash-back rewards cards. The Safeway list of accepted payment methods is relatively comprehensive. So it's very unlikely that you won't be able to find a form of currency in which they will take your money.

Safeway also doesn't accept credit cards as a form of payment outside of the United States. So you'll likely need to rely on cash or debit cards if you want to purchase something from Safeway stores while traveling.

Credit card processors will often charge a surcharge for purchases made with foreign credit cards. This means that your price for an item may be higher than at Safeway's US locations.

Does Safeway Cash Money Orders

The answer is yes. If you are a Safeway customer and need to cash a money order or deposit funds from a check into your account, the supermarket chain will handle the transaction for you. It's fast, easy, and convenient.

In addition to convenience, Safeway also provides competitive rates for cashing checks. Before you make your money order deposit, have the front of your check and the money order in hand. An agent will need to see both in order to process the transaction.

Safeway's cashier hours vary by location. To find the times for your local Safeway, browse through the store directory. New locations also include a section for ATM listings, as well as a link to store services. This includes services such as pharmacies and grocery delivery services.

Refund Policy For Money Orders At Safeway

Your money order can be exchanged for cash at Safeway customer service until midnight of the next day. That will not count towards your transaction limit on purchases. Just be aware that if you're exchanging for cash, you won't get a receipt.

However, Safeway policy does not allow money orders to be returned for refunds in specific cases. You cannot exchange or refund the money orders based upon an error made by the store. The money orders that are returned should be in the original Safeway package.

The customer service representative will update the return information for you and give you a refund for your money order. If you have further queries or questions, call customer service.

When you need to send money to someone, Safeway's money order is an excellent choice. Money orders from Safeway are exclusively accessible at Safeway stores. They're a safe and secure way to send or receive money, with the added benefit of having access 24 hours a day, and seven days a week. Thanks for stopping by!
